Everything is in a holding pattern right now with the Matt Canada/LSU situation. Will he stay or will he go? Will Pat Narduzzi be able to pull off one of his greatest recruiting feats ever? We should find out shortly.
Hopefully he looks past the financial gain and stays with Pitt but if he decides to leave, how will they impact Pitt’s 2017 recruiting class?
I reached out to some players currently in Pitt’s Class of 2017 and asked them if Canada’s decision would impact their decision to come to Pitt. Here are the players that have gotten back to me.
Todd Sibley, Ohio 4-star RB: “I don’t think it’ll have a huge impact but I definitely did like him as a coach.”
I followed up with are you still going to Pitt 100%? “Yes,” said Sibley.

Darian Street, PA 3-star WR: “Yeah, Coach Canada has a good offensive scheme, but Pitt is on the rise and I’m ready to be apart of it! I’m sure that if he does leave, we can make a good hire to replace him. I respect his decision no matter what. He needs to do what’s best for him and his family.”

Kenny Pickett, PA 3-star QB: “I’m 100% committed to Pitt. My family and I had a great visit this weekend with Coach Narduzzi, Coach Canada, the players and the entire coaching staff.”

Gabe Houy, PA 3-star OL: “I don’t believe it will impact my commitment. My commitment would only change if there were major coaching changes.”

Dontavius Butler- Florida 3-star WR: “As of right now, I’m really not sure to be honest. Depending on who we get.
