Just wanted to repeat something that I tweeted last night. The support that we’ve received from you the readers over the last two and a half weeks in terms of traffic on the site has been unreal.
We were getting good traffic during the football season but when recruiting season kicked in at the start of the month, traffic has been off the charts. It shows us that Pitt fans love Pitt football recruiting news/updates and we’re doing our best to provide that to you.
We’re also going to continue to provide you with the best coverage of Pitt and Duquesne basketball because it can’t just be all about recruiting. Alan and Rich, who are doing a great job on their beats, will continue to be at all Pitt and Duquesne home games and away games when possible.
The area that we need to put an emphasis on in 2017 is advertising and revenue coming into the site. In order for this site to stick around long-term, we need revenue coming in so that we can pay our writers and cover expenses. That’s not even mentioning allowing Joe and I to take home a few dollars for our work, something we haven’t done since the start last November.
