UPDATE (12:34 PM)-

**Reached out to a source close to USC transfer QB Max Browne and asked him if the departure of Matt Canada would impact Browne’s feelings about Pitt. My source told me “I think Max would’ve liked to see Coach Canada stay but in my opinion, it won’t impact Max because he likes and has a lot of faith in Coach Narduzzi. Those two have built a good relationship over the last few weeks.”

UPDATE (12:30 PM)-

**I’ve confirmed that Pat Narduzzi texted Florida WR and Pitt commit Dontavius Butler this morning and will communicate with him again tonight.

UPDATE (10:42 AM)-

**I’ve confirmed that Coach Narduzzi also sent a text this morning to 4-star commit Todd Sibley and explained to him that Coach Canada was doing what’s best for him and his family.

UPDATE (10:05 AM)-

**Heard back from Tyler Sear who told me that Coach Narduzzi texted him this morning at 8 AM with the message just to have faith in the system and to stay solid.

UPDATE (9:50 AM)-

**HC Pat Narduzzi says that Coach Canada will remain with the team through the bowl game before leaving for LSU.

“On behalf of our entire program, I want to thank Matt for his many important contributions, on and off the field, this past year. It was important that Matt remain with our team through the bowl game and he had no hesitation about that. He wants to send this team, and especially our seniors, out the right way. Our search for a new offensive coordinator will fully begin after the bowl game. Our primary focus is on a successful completion to the 2016 season.

“When you hire great people and have success, your staff will always be in demand. I’m confident we will find another outstanding person and professional to continue our momentum,” said Narduzzi.

UPDATE (9:35 AM)-

**Just spoke with Pitt commit TE Tyler Sear who also holds an offer from LSU and got his reaction to Matt Canada leaving and is he still committed to Pitt 100%. “Having an LSU offer is interesting but I’m solidly to Pitt. I have confidence in Coach Duzz and the rest of the staff to get a great new offensive coordinator and put us in a position to win,” said Sear.

UPDATE (5:42 AM)-

**Many of you are asking me and commenting on my tweet from Monday regarding “good news” for Pitt. I expected it to happen yesterday and obviously it didn’t, but it will. As I said in the past, I’m not ever going to try and upstage a kid with his news. The recruits will make their announcement when they’re comfortable not when I want them to. We’ll see if today is the day.
