PITTSBURGH — Pitt forward Ryan Luther is expected to miss 3 to 6 weeks with a right foot injury, Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned from a source close to the situation. Luther did not dress for Pitt’s game against Miami on Saturday afternoon and was seen at the game in walking boot.
The 6-foot-9 junior from Gibsonia is averaging 20.5 minutes and 6.6 points per game as the team’s most effective bench player. The injury leaves Pitt very limited as to what the team can do with the bench at the forward position.
Without Luther, 6-foot-8 true freshman Corey Manigault was called into action against Miami. Manigault has just seven points on the season and played only two minutes of the team’s four previous conference games.
The only other big man on the roster is 6-foot-11 redshirt junior Rozelle Nix, who has played one minute of ACC basketball and no more than six in any game in his first season of action with the Panthers.
