The evaluation process of junior prospects continues for the Pitt coaching staff. They’ve offered many players already and over the months ahead will offer many more.

I have a name that you should keep your eye on: Chase Wolf.

Wolf (6-foot-2, 195 pounds) is a quarterback for St. Xavier in Cincinnati and is drawing the attention of many programs. Currently, the talented junior holds offers from Wisconsin, Toledo, Iowa State, Central Michigan and Akron and is hearing from Cincinnati, Iowa, Michigan State and Boston College.

What about Pitt?

I find it interesting that in the last couple of days, both OC Shawn Watson and Pat Narduzzi have followed Wolf on Twitter. However, they haven’t been in contact yet with Wolf.

I imagine that a lot of teams will have to evaluate Wolf a lot harder because last year he spent half of his junior season backing up Penn State quarterback commitment Sean Clifford. In the seven games that he did start due to Clifford being injured, Wolf threw for 16 touchdown passes as St. Xavier won the Ohio state championship.

The strengths of Wolf’s game are his arm strength and his poise in the pocket.

Right now, Pitt has only offered 3 junior quarterbacks: Phil Jurkovec (Notre Dame), Artur Sitkowski and Kevin Doyle.

Let’s see if anything develops here with Chase Wolf and Pitt.
