Whether it’s football or basketball, recruiting top talent is the only way to turn a program around. After putting together a solid class for 2017, Jim Ferry and his staff are looking to the future.

While in St. Louis for an Atlantic-10 game tonight, the Dukes staff have offered a highly rated local prospect.

Last night, Ferry extended an offer to Vashon H.S. (St. Louis, Missouri) sophomore guard Mario McKinney. It’s not often that Duquesne extends an offer to a sophomore player.

Duquesne's 2024 March Madness Tournament coverage is sponsored by Leon's Billiards & More, Moon Golf Club and Archie's on Carson! Their contributions have allowed us to cover the Dukes run in Omaha, Nebraska. We appreciate their support!

247 Sports and Rivals both rate McKinney as a 4-star recruit and list him as a Top 100 recruit in the Class of 2019.

McKinney holds early offers from Missouri, Saint Louis, Auburn, Kansas State and DePaul.
