Bryce Golden Enjoys His Visit To Pitt

Yesterday was a good day for the Pitt basketball program.

First, the Panthers beat rival Syracuse 80-75, to extend their modest winning streak and their streak of solid play which began during their road trip trough North Carolina.

Secondly, the Panthers did this in front of a player that they hope becomes a big part of their future.

247 Sports 4-star forward Bryce Golden (St. James, Hagerstown, Maryland) was at The Pete on an unofficial visit and afterwards Pittsburgh Sports Now talked to him about the day.

First thing I asked Golden was what stood out most to him about his day with Pitt.

“Definitely the facilities. The renovations to the Peterson Event Center are terrific. They have all the tools for player development and recovery that any player could ask for,” said Golden.

“A lot of the day was with Coach Sutton. We talked a lot about how the renovation are starting and stuff like that. After the game I talked with Coach Stallings about how I fit in with the play style. He believes in my abilities and thinks I would make a great fit in the system.”

In between talking with Pitt coaches, Golden watched a Pitt win and was impressed with what he saw.

“I think Pitt was able to dominate on the glass. That’s a big part of my game and seeing a program that puts emphasizes on that means a lot. I also liked how they space the floor and allow players to go make plays,” said Golden.

247 Sports Composite rates Golden (6-8, 220) as one of the Top 75 players in the Class of 2018 and the one of the Top 20 small forwards in the country. Luckily for Pitt, it sounds like this talented prospect wants to see more of the Pitt program.

“Pitt’s definitely moving up my list. With everything I saw today and the talk I had with the coaches I’m definitely going to keep my eye on them.”
