Kevin Stallings and the Pitt basketball team’s pursuit of high level talent continues tonight as they host the most talented player in the WPIAL.
Mars junior shooting guard Robby Carmody tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that he’ll be at The Pete tonight as Pitt hosts Virginia Tech.
Not only is Carmody (6-foot-4, 185 pounds) one of the top players in Pennsylvania, he’s also ranked as one of the best shooting guards in the entire country. 247 Sports ranks him as a 4-star recruit and one of the top 100 juniors in the country.
All you need to know about Carmody’s skill level is that Kentucky coach John Calipari was at Mars recently to scout him.

The Mars junior currently holds offers from Syracuse, Xavier, Purdue, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Louisville, Duquesne, Cincinnati and Pitt.
This morning, I asked Carmody the thing he likes most about Pitt right now and also where the Panthers currently stand with him.
“I like the new things they’re trying to do. The coaching staff has come in ready to make changes and they have been and will continue to do so,” said Carmody.
“I talk with Coach Richardson the most and since they got the new staff, they’ve become more of an option for me.”
