Pitt Offers McKeesport’s Alexander Meadows

When looking at offensive line prospects that Pitt is recruiting, a lot of attention locally has been on Belle Vernon’s Blake Zubovic and Butler’s Jake Kradel.

Today a new target can be added to that list because Pitt has extended an offer to McKeesport offensive guard Alexander Meadows.

“On Sunday, Coach Peterson contacted me and said that I played well last season and offered me a scholarship to Pitt. He told me to just keep doing what I’m doing and keep it up,” said Meadows.

“I was surprised by the offer. We’ve been talking for a long time but I was just really happy with the offer. It feel good to get offered by the hometown school. My mom was crying and my brother was just happy for me.”

Aside from being an offer from the hometown school, this was big for Meadows because it’s his first Power Five offer. His other two offers came from Toledo and Army. As far as upcoming visits, Meadows (6-foot-5, 258 pounds) plans on visiting Army on April 9th and will make a visit to Pitt in May.

If you’re wondering if Meadows might make a quick commitment to Pitt, he tells me that he wants to keep his options open and doesn’t want to make a quick decision.

Meadows is the seventh WPIAL in the Class of 2018 to receive an offer from Pitt (Kwantel Raines/Aliquippa, Jake Kradel/Butler, Blake Zubovic/Belle Vernon, Phil Jurkovec/Pine-Richland, TJ Banks/East Allegheny, Devin Danielson/Thomas Jefferson, David Green/Central Catholic).
