We have a few developments in Duquesne’s search for a replacement for Jim Ferry.
According to ESPN’s Andy Katz, Vermont head coach John Becker turned down the job.
It looks like Duquesne had a Plan B and are in talks with him.
Gary Partish of CBS Sports is reporting that Duquesne is in advanced talks with Michigan State assistant Dane Fife to become the Dukes next head coach.
The 37 year old is on his 6th season as an assistant coach for Tom Izzo. Prior to Michigan State, Fife made history when at the age of 25 years old became the youngest head coach in college basketball history at IPFW.
In each of Fife’s seasons at IPFW, his team’s record improved every year.
Prior to IPFW, Fife was an assistant for two seasons at his alma mater, Indiana.
UPDATE (12:40PM)-
