Georgia isn’t a state that Pitt has historically recruited well in or for that matter even offered many recruits. However, they’re attempting to change that and last night they offered tight end Ben Bresnahan from Cumming, Georgia.

Bresnahan, who’s rated a 3-star recruit by 247 Sports, is the 6th recruit in the Class of 2018 from Georgia that’s received an offer from Pitt.

“Any offer that I get I respect greatly and thank the coaches for giving me the opportunity. I’ve been talking with Coach Salem for a little bit, we’ve been talking on the phone and texted back and forth a lot. Starting out, I’ve developed a pretty good relationship with him and he called me to let me know,” said Bresnahan.

“Pitt is mostly recruiting me at tight end but with my ball skills, I could be used at other positions as well, split out in the slot but I also could be just used on the line.”

“Right now in high school, I play outside receiver and that’s kind of helped me with being able to develop my ball skills and route running from the outside and as a split end on the inside. And also on my 7 on 7 team, I play tight end there so there, I get to learn the coverages and play against the linebackers so I think it’s really helped me to go against both,” said Bresnahan.

Unlike some kids who pick a school because of conference or game day atmosphere, relationships are going to be a big factor in which school Bresnahan eventually decides on.

“Coach Salem has been a very enthusiastic and upbeat guy and I’ve really liked what I’ve gotten to know about him. Very enthusiastic abs I could see myself playing for him.”

The plan right now is for Bresnahan to make a decision by the end of summer and before the start of the season.

“I was talking to Coach Salem and I’m going to come up and visit April 14.”

While he’s up north, Bresnahan will also  check out Ohio State, Michigan and a few other schools.
