UPDATE (10:00 AM)-

**The Pitt football program extended an offer last night to a prospect from Michigan.  Running back Elijah Collins from University of Detroit Jesuit High School received the offer from the Panthers.

“I’m very excited because Pitt sounds like a great place even though it’s far away,” said Collins. “Coach Hill offered me and it was a very informative talk and I got to know a lot of things I didn’t know about Pitt.”

247 Sports rates Collins (6-foot-1, 195 pounds) as a 3-star prospect.

“They like how I’m able to get to the next level and still have that break away speed. The strength to my game I would have to say is my vision, patience and explosiveness because being an RB you have to sometimes wait for plays to develop then explode through the hole.”

Although he holds an offer from Michigan State, Collins tells me that he has no favorites at this point. The talented back says that he’d like to make a visit to Pitt in the spring or this summer.
