After discussing it for years, college football finally has an early signing period.
Today it was announced that the Collegiate Commissioners Association has voted to begin an football early signing period.
The signing period will run from Dec 20-22 of 2017. Previously, high school seniors had to wait until February to sign their Letter of Intent.
Recruits will now have the option to sign in either December or February.
Spoke to a non-Power5 coach thrilled about new early signing period: "We hustle to get em evaluated & then big schools swoop in & poach em."

Early signing day is a win for the mid-major programs, and lower-level Power Five programs. Not sure it's a win for the prospects. https://t.co/dBW228ip5D
