The Pitt staff is busy recruiting the Class of 2018 but could they be close to land their first commitment in the Class of 2019.

Last month, Pitt was the first school to offer Maryland linebacker Kameron Blount and today he made a visit to Pittsburgh.

This wasn’t Blount’s first visit to Pitt but it was a special one because he came with his parents and his younger brother.

“I was with Coach Harley most of the day. After the camp, I got a tour of the facilities with my family. After that I met again with Coach Harley and went over the defense they run and what they expect out of their players,” said Blount.

“After that, we met with Coach Narduzzi and I really liked his energy. I could really see myself going to Pitt.”

“Last time I visited here, I was outside on the field the whole time and didn’t beat to interact with the coaches that much. This time, I talked with Coach Harley, Coach Powell and actually got to sit in Coach Narduzzi’s office. He had a nice conversation, it was laid back and I liked it.”

Since it was the Blount families first trip to Pittsburgh, I asked Kameron about their thoughts on what they saw.

“It was their first time meeting the coaches and they really liked talking with them. They liked it up there and loved the energy and vibe. They feel comfortable with me possibly being up there for the next few years,” said Blount.

If it sounds like Pitt is the leader for this talented linebacker you’d be correct.

“Pitt will always be a leader for me. I really like Pitt Andre think I’m really going to consider going there the next few years.”

Could we be seeing an early commitment from Blount to Pitt?

“Their actually is a chance of that. I feel real comfortable with them and why wait? If you’re feeling them and if I’m feeling the vibe already, why wait?”

Stay tuned.
