By now, Pitt fans know about Ohio linebacker Brian Asamoah and how much of a priority he is with the Pitt football program.

Over the weekend, he made weekend visits to both Pitt and West Virginia and last night, PSN talked with Asamoah about his trip to Pittsburgh.

Since Asamoah has visited Pitt so much over the last year, I asked him his biggest takeway from his latest visit.

“Definitely the academic program. It was something I wasn’t able to do the first couple of times there. I was able to sit-down with Keith and that was a great experience,” said Asamoah.

With plans to major in business, being in the city of Pittsburgh with all the business opportunities, that would be a huge selling point for Asamoah.

On the football side, the star linebacker continued to develop his relationship with the coaches and was able to have a long talk with Pat Narduzzi. Asamoah is a player the Pitt program wants and he can feel that.

“They just continue to tell me how much of a priority I am, the number one linebacker on their board. They’ve texted me everyday of the week, they wouldn’t do that to a player they really don’t want,” said Asamoah.

Pitt isn’t the only program that wants Asamoah as evidenced by his 20+ offers. I asked him has this experience, all this attention from major programs and dealing with constant media requests, been more than he expected?

“It’s not what I expected it to be. After having played just 13 varsity games in my career, I didn’t expect all of this. But I knew that with the way my work ethic is, my play and production on the field would be recognized.”
