Great Month of June for the Pitt Football Team

Published

on

It’s like clock work, come the month of June the Pitt football program will get their share of verbal commitments.

Looking back at the month of June, that was certainly the case as Pat Narduzzi’s program landed commitments from seven recruits. They weren’t just commitments, they were pledges from some very highly regarded players.

As we sit here on July 1, Pitt has 11 verbal commitments and approximately seven or eight commitments left to take.

In his three years at Pitt, here’s the breakdown of commitments in June for Narduzzi:

2015: Five commitments (Bricen Garner, Chawntez Moss, Chase Pine, Maurice Ffrench, Ruben Flowers)

— David Hague/PSN

2016: seven commitments (Kenny Pickett, Cam Bright, Darian Street, Todd Sibley, Owen Drexel, Carson Van Lynn, Albert Tucker)

Here’s the order of verbal commitments Pitt received last month:

*Linebacker Wendell Davis from Richmond, Virginia
*Cornerback Judson Tallandier from Hyattsville, Maryland
*Defensive end John Morgan from Hyattsville, Maryland
*Offensive tackle Chase Brown from Scranton, Pennsylvania
*Offensive guard Blake Zubovic from Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania
*Tight end Matt Alaimo from Montvale, New Jersey
*Defensive tackle Devin Danielson from Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania

In case you’re wondering, July hasn’t historically been a month for landing commitments. Two years ago, Pitt got Bryce Hargrove from Akron, Ohio and last year, wide receiver Dontavius Butler from Plantation, Florida became a Panther.

What will this July bring for Pitt?
