Despite all the time spent there and offers that have been extended, it’s a little surprising Pitt hasn’t gotten a commitment from a Florida player yet.
With 11 current verbal commitments and a smaller recruiting class this year, time is running out.
Last night, PSN talked to a player from the Sunshine State that has the Panthers at the top of his list.
Defensive end Uchenna Ezewike (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) from Fort Lauderdale is a 247 Sport 3-star recruit. Currently, Ezewike has seven offers with the biggest offer coming from Kentucky.
We talked to Ezewike about Pitt and why he has them atop his board.
“Pitt is number one for me right now, and there isn’t a date set yet but I’m going to take an official there whenever the time comes,” said Ezewike.
“I might do an official during the season because I really want to check out the atmosphere and culture at Pitt, but if my schedule is tight I’ll just do it between do it between the end of my season and signing day.”
“Pitt is #1 right now for a bunch of reasons: like it’s an ACC school, great fan base and also Coach Partridge (the coach that initially offered me) was the D-Line coach at Wisconsin back when JJ Watt was there,” said Ezewike.
“I look up to Watt as a player and hope that Coach Partridge and Pitt could mold me into a player as great as him. And then their whole staff shows a bunch of love all the time, I even got in touch with Coach Narduzzi a couple times.”
As we’ve been writing for the last month, Pitt is only taking one or two more defensive lineman. Who will commit and get that scholarship and who will wait too long and get shut out?
