A week before camp and the Pitt Panthers have added veteran depth to their offensive line.

This afternoon on Twitter, former Texas offensive lineman Brandon Hodges announced that he would be transferring to Pitt.

Hodges (6-foot-4, 308 pounds), who is a graduate transfer, will be eligible for the upcoming 2017 season. Hodges started his college career at East Mississippi Community College (AKA Last Chance U.) before transferring to Texas in 2015.

After redshirting in 2015, Hodges started 9 games for the Longhorns last season.

Pat Narduzzi doesn’t have much veteran depth on the offensive line which Hodges will provide with the capability of playing both spots on the right side and left guard.

At some point the Panthers will likely have an injury on the offensive line which means Hodges could turn into a valuable late addition.
