Pitt BB Recruiting

Kenechukwu Chukwuka to Visit Pitt Tomorrow

Despite working hard on recruiting players for the Class of 2018, Kevin Stallings still has one scholarship opening for this years basketball team and they could be close to getting their guy.

PSN’s Harry Psaros reports that New Mexico Junior College forward Kenechukwuka Chukwuka (6-foot-9, 210 pounds) will be making an official visit to Pitt tomorrow.

The native of Sweden picked up a scholarship from the Panthers a couple of weeks ago and looks to be a good fit because of his size and experience. A scout tells me that the strengths of his game are his mobility for a big man, has a high basketball IQ, excellent passer for a big man, can shoot the 3, very hard worker and is a character kid.

Aside from Pitt, Chukwuka also holds offers from New Mexico State, Iona, Evansville, Canisius and Eastern Michigan.

I know that Pitt is hoping to use that last scholarship for 2017 on a big man so if things go well tomorrow, I would expect to see Chukwuka become a Pitt Panther.
