Pitt Loses Out on Asamoah

Pitt was the first Power Five school to offer Ohio linebacker Brian Asamoah and he was a player the Panthers recruited very hard and wanted very bad.

That’s all in the past now because tonight Asamoah gave a verbal commitment to Oklahoma.

My thought that Asamoah was going to make this decision a few weeks ago after returning from a trip to Norman and announcing he was ready to decide on a college.

A few days later he canceled that announcement but it just delayed the inevitable.

There’s no sugar coating that this loss stings for Pitt because he’s the type of skilled, athletic linebacker that Pat Narduzzi and Josh Conklin need in their defense.

Prior to the late offer by Oklahoma, Pitt looked to be in good position to land Asamoah.
