As we’ve mentioned over the last couple of days, Saturday will be a big recruiting day for the Pitt football program.

The Panthers will be hosting recruits from the classes of 2018, 2019 and even 2020.

Players like Kwantel Raines, Cole Beck, Jaylen Thrift and John Branham already hold offers from Pitt. Others are coming to the game hoping to pick up an offer.

One of those players is a local kid, 2019 linebacker/defensive end Brian Dallas (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) from Central Catholic.

“A pass rusher is what most people see me as but I feel like I’m an athlete and can play wherever the coaches want to put me. I feel like I can make tackles, get sacks so I’m just trying to get bigger so I can play wherever the coaches want to put me.”

Pat Narduzzi has developed a strong pipeline going with Central Catholic by landing players like Damar Hamlin, Bricen Garner, Rashad Wheeler and David Green (2018 verbal commitment).

“I’m really looking forward to this Saturday so that I can get a chance to be around the team and the players. I’m also going to be able to get a better feel for the school,” said Dallas.

“Going there I also hope to pick up an offer from them.”

Narduzzi and his staff haven’t offered many WPIAL juniors so far but many believe that Dallas  could be the next one to hear from Pitt.

“I feel like I’m close to getting one from them. It I can keep making plays and keep my grades up I feel one could come soon,” said Dallas.

“To get one, considering its my hometown team would mean a lot to me. To have the chance to play near home would mean a lot to me, my family and my friends. It would be really cool.”
