TJ Banks Commits to West Virginia

Published

West Virginia doesn’t get many recruits from the WPIAL but they did today and he’s a good one.

Today on his birthday, East Allegheny 4-star tight end TJ Banks gave a verbal commitment to the Mountaineers.

In the end, Banks (6-foot-6, 240 pounds) ended up selecting West Virginia over Illinois and Temple. Considering his talent level, I was surprised that Banks didn’t receive interest from more programs.

Rivals ranks Banks as the 15th best tight end prospect in the country. Considering his skill level, Banks is capable of playing on either side of the ball.

A year ago, I figured Banks would’ve been a lock to Pitt but that didn’t develop.

Banks is West Virginia’s 18th verbal commitment and third 4-star recruit.
