As Pitt is finding out this year, there’s no more important position on the field than quarterback.
Like in baseball with starting pitching, a team can’t have enough quality quarterbacks on the roster.

Last night, the Pitt coaches reached out and offered a player that they hope will be a future Panther quarterback.
Davis Beville, a junior quarterback from South Carolina, got a call from Pitt offensive coordinator who informed him he’d received an offer from Pitt.
”I just started talking with them last week. I’ve been texting with them a lot and finally got on the phone with Coach Watson last night and that’s when they told me,” said Beville.
“He told me that he usually likes to see their quarterbacks in person but they’ve loved all of my film. I’m a pro-style guy but athletic enough to create plays.”

This wasn’t just any ordinary offer for Beville, it was special and one that he’ll always remember, Pitt was Beville’s first D-1 offer.
”That offer meant the world to me. My dad was right there with me listening on the phone. I then went in and saw my mom and told her and gave her a big hug. I then just had tears running down my eyes because all my hard work had paid off,” said Beville.
“I’m definitely going to give big consideration to Pitt especially since they were the first to offer which meant the world to me.”
Beville isn’t wasting any time attempting to learn more about Pitt as he tells me he’ll be visiting this weekend for the Virginia game.
“The coaches reached out to me earlier this week, and talked about a visit. I called them last night to plan on this visit, and the call ended up in the offer.”
