The Pitt football program is hosting recruits for their first official visit weekend of the recruiting season.
Ohio defensive tackle Tyler Bentley and Florida receivers Shocky Jacques-Louis and Jeshaun Jones arrived in town yesterday and will be here until tomorrow.
I was able to talk briefly with one of those players and he told me his “visit was going great.” He also told me that he would be announcing his college decision the day before Signing Day. Although he didn’t tell me anything, I get the vibe that Pitt has a really good chance of landing him.
Here are a few other notes from today:
**Tonight Pitt extended an offer to a player from Florida that’s currently committed to another school.
2018 cornerback V’lique Carter (5-10, 170) from West Palm Beach picked up a Panther offer. Just last month, Carter made a verbal commitment to Iowa State. Carter is a 3-star recruit with offers from Oklahoma, Kentucky, Purdue and Colorado.
**Another senior defensive back received an offer. 2018 cornerback Rashad Ajayi from Fairburn, Georgia got the news. Earlier this week, Ajayi de-committed from Georgia Southern. PSN contacted Ajayi and he told PSN that he was currently deciding on a date to make an official visit to a Pitt.

**More defensive back news for Pitt today as Josh Conklin and Charlie Partridge were in Florida this morning to visit Florida defensive back Ronald Hardge, who’s currently committed to Illinois.
