While Pitt didn’t get any verbal commitments this weekend, they did receive glowing reviews from the three uncommitted recruits that visited—including from 3-star wide receiver Jeshaun Jones.

Jones is a big-time talent from Fort Myers, Florida that has been offered by Florida State, Georgia, Michigan State, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.

Jones was accompanied on his visit by his mother, Nicole Baran, and this morning PSN spoke to her about their visit to Pittsburgh.

“We both really liked the campus and the city of Pittsburgh and were both really impressed by Pitt sharing a facility with the Steelers,” said Baran.

”It was really cool to be able to see them practice from the weight room. What better motivation than to see where you are trying to get by working hard.”

I asked Baran what questions she had for the Pitt coaches concerning her son.

“The questions we had were about how Jeshaun would fit in to the offense. We also asked Coach Narduzzi about his contract at Pitt. Also, we asked about the options for getting a masters with having almost 5 1/2 years of eligibility and the education by coming in mid year,” said Baran.

“We felt very comfortable with Coach Narduzzi. He’s a straight shooter and seems to be honest whether it comes out nice or not, he will tell you the truth.”

So, what’s next for Jones as far as official visits and his timeline for making a decision?

“Jeshaun has one official visit left and he’s taking it this weekend but hasn’t decided where. He will announce his decision on December 20 (Signing Day).”

As a parent, after what she saw and heard this weekend, would she feel comfortable if her son wanted to choose Pitt?

“Pitt made me feel very comfortable in knowing that Jeshaun would be taken care of. I got a good vibe from all the coaches and really loved the area. I felt like it was safe and still had the feeling of a big city. With the pro teams in town there would be a good opportunity for him to get exposure to play at the next level and also internships to network towards his career goals.

This visit moved Pitt towards the top!”
