Pitt has a real interesting situation now at the quarterback position.
For the second time this week, a quarterback has decided to leave the program. This afternoon on Twitter, redshirt sophomore Ben DiNucci announced that he’s transferring.

Earlier this week, redshirt freshman Thomas MacVittie announced that he was also transferring.
Both those moves are in response to Kenny Pickett taking over the quarterback position for Pitt. Considering he’s only a freshman, DiNucci and MacVittie both want to play and don’t see that happening at Pitt.
With these two departures, Pickett and Nick Patti are the only two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. Erie JUCO quarterback Tyler Zelinski announced he’d be joining Pitt as a preferred walk-on.
Will this move by DiNucci lead to Pitt looking to add a veteran grad transfer quarterback as insurance behind Pickett?
PSN will have more on this story throughout the day.
