An interesting development in the Pitt quarterback situation.

Earlier today, redshirt sophomore Ben DiNucci announced that he would be transferring. That development meant that freshman Nick Patti was the only other scholarship quarterback on the roster.

That might not be the situation for very long as a JUCO quarterback announced that he’ll be making an official visit to Pitt this weekend.

Iowa Western C.C. quarterback Kai Locksley will be in town this weekend for an official visit. Locksley (6-4, 205) is a dual threat quarterback from Baltimore, Maryland end has a history with offensive coordinator Shawn Watson.

Back in 2015, Locksley was a part of the Texas Longhorns recruiting class when Watson was offensive coordinator.

He was the only quarterback Texas took in their Class of 2015. Locksley was talented and athletic enough to play wide receiver in the Under Armour All-American game. However after redshirting a season and then not playing any in his second year, Locksley decided to transfer from Austin.

Considering he’s visiting tomorrow, this is obviously an interesting development and PSN will attempt to get more information this evening.

Locksley could very well become Pitt’s backup quarterback in 2018.
