The second official visit weekend for Pitt resulted in a verbal commitment and this comes from a surprise recruit.

247 Sports Steve Wiltfong reports that Ventura C.C. quarterback Ricky Town has committed to Pitt.

Town (6-4, 215) is a former 4-star recruit out of high school in California. Town was rated as the #6 Pro-Style quarterback coming out of high school and ranked the #79 overall player.

Town committed to Alabama while in high school but flipped to USC. Town’s stay at USC was short as he left USC two weeks into camp. Following USC, he committed to Arkansas where he stayed for a year before going to Ventura C.C.

This is a real interesting commitment for Pitt and would likely mean the end of recruitment of JUCO QB Kai Locksley, who also visited this weekend.

Town will have two years of eligibility remaining.

PSN will have more on this story later tonight.
