Pitt’s Class of 2018 isn’t completely wrapped up, with another Signing Day looming on Feb 7.

So, while Pat Narduzzi and his staff will be out after Christmas trying to land a few more recruits, with limited scholarships available, don’t look for a ton of activity.

Pitt will be looking to add a running back, but that’s not a necessity. Look for them to add an experienced offensive lineman and also get a commitment from a linebacker if possible.

One advantage of the early signing day is that with nearly all of their commits signed up, it allows the coaches to put serious attention on their Class of 2019.

By our calculations, the Pitt staff have extended offers to nearly 100 junior players.

It’s way too early to know which players are at the top of Pitt’s recruiting board but it’s not a stretch to say that Andrew Kristofic, Will Putnam, Jayvon Thrift and Mershawn Rice are near the top.

Kristofic will no doubt be Pitt’s top local target but unlike years past, Western Pennsylvania doesn’t have a ton of top-end D-1 talent.

At this point, Pitt has extended offers to four Western PA players: Kristofic, Thrift, Joey Porter Jr., and Kyi Wright. Players such has Rahmon Hart, Corey Thomas, Brian Dallas and M.J. Devonshire will no doubt get offers from Pitt but haven’t received them yet.

What state is Pitt targeting early? Yep, Florida continues to be the state with the most offers.
