Strike while the iron is hot.

A day after their largest road win in Atlantic-10 history and raising their conference record to a perfect 3-0, the Duquesne basketball program turned their attention to recruiting as they hosted three local prospects on unofficial visits.

This afternoon, Keith Dambrot and his staff hosted Kennedy Catholic juniors Maceo Austin and Manis Norman as well as Sewickley Academy sophomore Isiah Warfield.

Austin (6-foot-4, 170 pounds) is a highly rated shooting guard that rated by 247 Sports as a 4-star recruit as well as one of the Top 150 juniors in the country. Aside from Duquesne, Austin also holds offers from Pitt, West Virginia, Penn State, Virginia, Richmond, St. Joe’s, Akron and UAB.

“It was a great visit. I just pretty much saw what a typical day was for them but Coach D just explained to me how he has a great plan for me to succeed there,” said Austin.

Norman and Warfield are rising prospects that are still looking for their first Power Five offer. Warfield made an unofficial visit to Pitt last weekend.

The more Duquesne wins, the better shot they’ll have at trying to recruit the talented local D-1 recruits, something that is going to be important to the growth of the Dukes’ program.
