Eric Williams and Koby Thomas Win Rookie of Week in A-10 and NEC

The great freshman seasons for Duquesne’s Eric Williams and Koby Thomas from Robert Morris continued today as both players were named rookies of the week in their respective conferences.

For Williams, this was the third time this season that he’s won the award. In two wins over George Washington and Fordham, Williams averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Michigan native is the leading rebounder in the Atlantic 10 with 9.8 rebounds per game. Williams is the second leading scorer on Duquesne with 14.3 PPG, second in 3-pointers (29) and first in dunks (14).

Thomas won the NEC Rookie of the Week honor for the fourth time this week as he shared it with Jonah Antonio of Mount St. Mary’s.

In two wins over St. Francis Brooklyn and Long Island, Thomas averaged 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. In those games, Thomas shot 48 percent (12-for-25) from the field. In the win over St. Francis Brooklyn, Thomas recorded his first career double-double with 16 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.

The freshman from Philadelphia is averaging 13.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, both tops among NEC rookies.
