Pitt Extends Late Offer to Senior Casey Rogers

Published

on

For the most part, the Pitt football coaches are extending offers to juniors and sophomores but over the weekend, one went out to a 2018 player.

Casey Rogers from Avon Old Farms High School (Avon, Connecticut) received an offer from the Pitt program. Rogers (6-5, 240) who is a Rivals 3-star recruit, has the athletic ability to play either tight end, defensive end or linebacker in college. He’s also athletic enough that he was slated to attend Syracuse on a lacrosse scholarship but changed his mind and is set onplaying football.

At this point, Rogers holds offers from California, Indiana, Nebraska, Oregon State, Rutgers, Temple and Vanderbilt. Although he hasn’t received offers from them yet, Rogers is getting interest from UCLA, Alabama, Ohio State and actually made official visits to Alabama and Ohio State.

Obviously, Rogers is a talented player that Pitt would love to get to make an official visit. They would like to get a commitment from a defensive end and are now recruiting Rogers, Kaymar Mimes (New Jersey), Jaevon Becton (Virginia) and Leonard Taylor (Ohio).

Although we’ve reached out, PSN hasn’t been able to confirm that any of these players will be making official visits in January.
