DE Kaymar Mimes Commits to Pitt

Pitt’s Class of 2018 added a member today when defensive end Kaymar Mimes from Long Beach, New Jersey announced that he’d be joining Pitt.

While completing his official visit over the weekend, Mimes (6-foot-5, 231 pounds) let the Pitt staff know that he was committing but it remained unrevealed until today.

This news came as no surprise as many felt that Mimes would eventually join Pitt after receiving the late scholarship offer and him decommitting from Rutgers.

Mimes becomes the 18th pledge for Pitt this year and the third defensive end (Noah Palmer and John Morgan). Unless one of these three players could be slated to play another position, I would assume the Pitt staff is done recruiting defensive ends for this class.

Mimes becomes Pitt’s second commitment from New Jersey this year (Nick Patti) and 5th in the last two years (Carter Warren, Owen Drexel and Kenny Pickett).

PSN hopes to talk with Mimes later today about becoming the latest Pitt Panther commitment.
