PITTSBURGH — Pitt lost a heartbreaker Wednesday, coming up short by just one or two shots in a 72-68 loss to the NC State Wolfpack, their closest decision of ACC play.
The Panthers led by nine points with just under six minutes left, but couldn’t come up with a shot late as NC State went on 13-0 run to capitalize.
“I feel horribly for our players because they deserve to win,” head coach Kevin Stallings said. “We need a win. They need a win and we didn’t get it.
