TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Pitt certainly isn’t trying to invent new ways to lose basketball games, but that seems to be what’s happening with the Panthers who have now lost 15 straight games after an 88-75 loss to Florida State at Donald Tucker Center on Sunday night.

The Panthers played perhaps their best game of the season, holding a talented but shorthanded Seminoles squad at bay for most of the game, but the Panthers ran into a new problem — foul trouble.

Point guard Marcus Carr, shooting guard Jared Wilson-Frame and center Terrell Brown all fouled out while Kene Chukwuka and Khameron Davis spent most of the day playing with four fouls.

Pitt was whistled for 31 personal fouls in total compared to 21 for Florida State. The Seminoles attempted 40 free throws, while Pitt had 22.

Wilson-Frame and Shamiel Stevenson each had 17 points to lead the Panthers. Pitt had 13 assists compared to 12 turnovers, improving in a sore spot for the team this season.

Pitt will return to the Petersen Events Center to play Wake Forest on Wednesday at 9 p.m.
