Postgame Reaction from Pitt’s ‘Disheartening’ Loss to No. 1 Virginia

Postgame Reaction from Pitt’s ‘Disheartening’ Loss to No. 1 Virginia

PITTSBURGH — Pitt’s fate in conference play was already sealed before the Panthers hosted No. 1 Virginia on Saturday. The Panthers will finish in last place in the ACC. But that didn’t make the Panthers’ 66-37 loss any easier to take.

“It’s disheartening for anybody who cares about the program,” head coach Kevin Stallings said. “I think that their response to (losing) has been admirable, and I really respect them for how they have gone about it and how they have handled it.”

Here’s more reaction from Stallings, shooting guard Jared Wilson-Frame and Virginia head coach Tony Bennett.

OT Larry Fitzgerald did Pitt proud again. MSN has a short story on Larry’s visit with ailing Senator and war hero John McCain. He is staying at the familes cabin in Arizona. Someone snapped a nice picture of Larry sitting on their couch with the Senator and his wife on his outside and Larry had his arm around both.

He’s one of the classiest people on the planet. Great representative of Pitt.
