Postgame Reaction from Pitt’s ‘Disheartening’ Loss to No. 1 Virginia

PITTSBURGH — Pitt’s fate in conference play was already sealed before the Panthers hosted No. 1 Virginia on Saturday. The Panthers will finish in last place in the ACC. But that didn’t make the Panthers’ 66-37 loss any easier to take.

“It’s disheartening for anybody who cares about the program,” head coach Kevin Stallings said. “I think that their response to (losing) has been admirable, and I really respect them for how they have gone about it and how they have handled it.”

Here’s more reaction from Stallings, shooting guard Jared Wilson-Frame and Virginia head coach Tony Bennett.
