SOUTH BEND, Ind. — As expected, Pitt dropped a 73-56 decision to Notre Dame on Wednesday to secure an 0-18 season in conference play.
Pitt head coach Kevin Stallings acknowledged his team’s struggles that led to yet another long scoring drought and yet another conference, but he also feels that in the aggregate, his Panthers got shortchanged when it comes to the amount of work they put in and the results they got out of the 2017-18 season.
“The hardest part of this whole thing has been these guys aren’t getting what they deserve in terms of some success and some good feeling,” Stallings said. “It’s hard on us. It’s hard on the coaches. It’s hard on me. But it’s hard on them and that makes it worse for me, because this is about them. It’s about their experience.”
