A week ago, Pitt wasn’t even on the mind of talented Ohio cornerback Nyles Beverly. A few days ago, a phone call changed that and now Beverly is very much interested in the Pitt Panthers.

Today, Beverly was one of the many players at the Panthers practice on the South Side and left his visit with an offer.

Beverly (5-11, 180) is a 3-star recruit from Nordonia High School in Macedonia, Ohio. Beverly holds a handful of Power Five offers including one from Michigan.

After arriving home from his trip, PSN spoke to Beverly about the day and his latest offer.

”It was my first time visiting Pittsburgh. I thought all of the facilities were very nice. I got to go watch them practice and it was very live. I liked how their defense is so hype and really seem to play for each other. The coaches that I met were great and overall it was just a good day,” said Beverly.

”I wanted to visit because Pitt has always been a good football team and a school that’s always been good to go to. I actually hadn’t talked to Pitt at all until Coach Narduzzi texted me earlier this week and sent me the spring practice schedule and I decided to get up there.”

It was a productive visit as he received an offer but that didn’t come as a surprise.

“I told Pitt on Monday or Tuesday that I was coming and then my head coach told me yesterday that they were going to offer me so I came on the visit knowing one was coming.

“The coaches told me that they really liked my tape because I’m able to Press in man coverage and they like my size and length,” said Beverly.

As far as upcoming trips, Beverly told PSN that he’s going to Michigan’s spring game, Kentucky, Purdue and hopes to visit Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt.

When asked what stood out to Beverly that could lead him to have interest in Pitt, he said it was mostly the coaching staff.

“They all really seemed like good people and would be people that would take care of me if I decided to go there,” he said. “I really thought that I would feel like home if I went there.”

As far as a decision timeframe, Beverly says he’d like to commit sometime in June or July and sign during the December signing period.
