Another day, another offer from Pitt goes out to a prospect from the state of Georgia.

Nicolas Toomer is a 2019 cornerback from Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Georgia and yesterday he received his 10th offer from Pitt.

“I really haven’t heard much from Pitt but Coach Collins hit me up on Twitter. Then we talked on the phone for a bit and then he told me that he was offering me. It was surprising but a pleasant surprise honestly,” said Toomer.

“He told me that he liked the way I played the game, liked my speed and my physicality and my overall ability to play the game. They think I’d be a great fit in their system. I’m what they’re looking for in their new prototype defensive backs.”

I asked Toomer what about him and his game are getting the attention of colleges.

“First off, I have the grades that they’re looking for. Secondly, when they watch my tape, they like my versatility, I’m able to play wide receiver and defensive back. I think I have good speed and can tackle.”

Like 2019 Georgia linebacker Nick Jackson, who we talked to yesterday after getting a Pitt offer, academics are a huge priority to Toomer and will play a big part in deciding his future home.

“Academics are huge. A lot of people can play football, not everyone can keep good grades. I really want to go to a prestigious academic school and I know Pitt is one of those type of schools. My relationship with the coaches will also be a big factor.”

Toomer tells me that he’d potentially like to go to medical school.

Along with Pitt, Toomer also holds offers from Indiana, Minnesota, East Carolina, Navy, South Florida, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.

“I’ve been to both Wake Forest and East Carolina a couple of times but really I’m putting all my offers on the same level right now. All of them gave importance to me and I’m trying to take my time,” said Toomer.

“I do want to begin to narrow things down in the next few weeks going into spring and early summer. I’m going to try and make a decision in late spring or early summer.”

Toomer tells PSN that he’s like to make an upcoming visit to Pitt but hasn’t finalized a date. He does have upcoming trips planned to Boston College and to Vanderbilt.
