As he’s working to finalize the members of his coaching staff, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel is also getting out on the road recruiting.

As Harry Psaros was first to report today, Capel has a recruiting trip scheduled at Kennedy Catholic with 2019 stars Maceo Austin and Oscar Tshiebwe. PSN has confirmed that he’s scheduled to visit at 3 PM.

This won’t be Capel’s only big local recruiting trip this week.

PSN has learned that Capel will travel to Butler to see 2020 star point guard Ethan Morton. We’ve been told that Capel reached out to Morton this week and will watch him workout tomorrow.

Morton (6-foot-4, 195 pounds) is one of the top sophomores in the entire country with 247 Sports ranking him as the 59th best player.

At this point, Morton holds offers from Pitt, Ohio State, Iowa, Penn State, West Virginia and Duquesne.

Many believe that by the time he graduates, Morton will be the most talented player to come out of Western Pennsylvania in a long time.

Considering the importance Capel places on the point guard position, Morton will no doubt be a priority for Pitt’s new coach.
