The Pitt-Penn State game the last two years has lived up to the hype.
The game has had everything you’d want in a rivalry game expect for one thing: a primetime atmosphere.
Thanks to the Panthers’ neighbors on the North Shore that could be changing this year.
Today, the Pirates announced that their game on September 8, which was originally scheduled for 7:05 PM, has been moved to 1:05 PM.
While that time switch doesn’t guarantee a Pitt-Penn State kickoff under the lights, it does ensure that the game won’t have an early kickoff.
Logistically, the North Shore won’t be able to handle two sporting events starting at approximately the same time.
The executives at ESPN and ABC haven’t decided on a kickoff time yet and likely won’t decide until summer but there’s a strong chance that this year’s matchup will have an evening kickoff.
