Jeff Capel to Visit With Top 150 Recruit Emmitt Matthews

Although he doesn’t know exactly how many 2018 scholarships he has to fill yet, Jeff Capel will need to add some players for the upcoming season.

To that end, Capel has been in touch and will visit with a talented player.

Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned that Capel will be visiting with 2018 small forward Emmitt Matthews (Tacoma, Washington) possibly as soon as tomorrow. I’m told Matthews has definite interest in Pitt.

Matthews (6-foot-7, 180 pounds), who is rated by Rivals as a Top 135 recruit, was committed to UConn but recently de-committed after the firing of Kevin Ollie.

Aside from Pitt, Matthews is getting recruited by West Virginia, Washington, Washington State, Georgetown, Georgia and Virginia Tech. West Virginia and Washington are reportedly pursuing him very hard.

Matthews is a skilled outside shooter and considered to have a big upside.

PSN will work on confirming the exact day of Capel’s visit.
