One of Pitt’s point guards for the upcoming season could be on campus today.
Per Corey Evans, 2018 3-star guard Xavier Johnson (Arlington, Virginia) will be making an unofficial visit.
Back in November, Johnson (6-foot-3, 170 pounds) made a verbal commitment to Nebraska but de-committed on April 13 because of the departure of assistant coach Kenya Hunter, his lead recruiter.
If Johnson can develop a good relationship with the Pitt staff the two appear to be a good fit. Pitt needs a point guard and can offer Johnson immediate playing time. Plus, Capel has a great history of working with and developing guards.
Aside from Pitt, Johnson has been offered by Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Creighton, Providence , South Florida and Washington.
