Pittsburgh Sports Now is pleased to partner with the Barnstorm Basketball Association, a Chillicothe, Ohio-based youth basketball organization that hosts and runs boys and girls youth basketball tournaments throughout the mid-west.

This month, the league rolls into Pittsburgh for a Memorial Day weekend basketball tournament at California University. Open to boys and girls from grades 3 to 11, the tournament comes amidst a breakout 2018 season for the league.

“We’ve been burning up the roads this Spring hosting amazing youth basketball tournaments in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky and now our sights are set on Pittsburgh for the Steel City Memorial Classic at California University,” said Jack Williams, Commissioner of the Barnstorm Basketball Association. “We couldn’t be more excited about bringing the BBA’s brand of basketball to Pennsylvania.”

The BBA has teamed up with PA Elite Basketball to host the tournament. PA Elite is an established youth basketball program for boys and girls in southwestern Pennsylvania. “Finding a strong partner in Boo Sherbondy and his PA Elite was big for us,” said Williams. “With their local connections, our national following and a first class venue at California University we have the makings of a tournament to rival the best of the best in the world of travel/AAU basketball.”

The Steel City Memorial Classic will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27, at California University and is open to boys and girls teams grades 3 – 11. According to Williams, many teams from Ohio have already committed to the tournament. “We have teams from Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio that will be making the trip over to PA for the tournament. That is what barnstorming is all about, traveling from town to town taking on new and different teams each week,”.

Coaches can register their teams for $195 online at www.barnstormbasketball.com.
