Jeff Capel has filled a much needed position to his 2018-19 roster.

Earlier this evening, New Mexico State grad transfer guard Sidy N’Dir told Pittsburgh Sports Now that he had committed to Pitt.

This news comes after N’Dir made a weekend visit to Pittsburgh.

N’Dir who averaged 9 points per game in his career at New Mexico State tells PSN that he’s a combo guard and will play both spots at Pitt. Considering Pitt’s lack of experience at the point, this is an important addition for Capel.

”My reason for wanting to check and commit to Pitt are simple, I wanted to see something different and play against higher and better competition,” said N’Dir. “ I truly believe that Coach Capel and his staff will bring the program to the top.”

”I’m familiar with the type of culture he wants to bring to Pitt. So, I definitely saw myself as a part of this journey, even though, it will be short-term for me,” said N’Dir.

So what are N’Dir’s thoughts on his new coach?

”Coach Capel is a great guy. I really enjoyed the life and basketball exchange with him but also with the rest of the staff. Winning experience and toughness are what he was looking for and for me to have an immediate impact on this coming season.”
