In two weeks, Pitt will host one of the top running backs in the entire country.
Daniel Carter is rated by Rivals as one of the Top 75 players in the country. Top programs such as Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia Tech have offered this 4-star talent but Andre Powell and Pitt have gotten his attention.

Carter, from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florida has been impressed enough with Pitt that he’s giving them an official visit on June 15-17.
“I’ve been impressed that they’ve stayed in communication with me almost everyday. Talking with Coach Powell and the other coaches have gotten me inspired to find out more of what Pitt is about,” said Carter.
“Coach Powell tells me that he really likes me a lot and feels that I can come to Pitt and definitely get plenty of reps and compete for the starting job,” said Carter. “The staff likes the way I run the ball and the impact I have on games. They also believe that there’s things they can help me with to make my game even better.”
When describing his game, Carter says he’s a guy that can catch the ball out of the backfield, can even split out as a receiver sometimes but as a runner has both speed and power.
“I pattern my game after Ezekiel Elliott from the Cowboys. I watch his film almost everyday to learn and get better,” said Carter.
This will be Carter’s first visit to the city of Pittsburgh. I asked him is there something he’s looking to see or find out while at Pitt.
“I want to see what it’s like on campus because I really don’t know that much so this visit will really help me out.”
Pitt has landed 4-star running backs AJ Davis and Mychale Salahuddin the last two years. Can they make it three in a row with Carter?
