4-Star Guard Au’Diese Toney Commits To Pitt

A big get for Jeff Capel as he lands another highly rated recruit.

While on his official visit, 4-star guard Au’Diese Toney gave the Pitt program a verbal commitment.

Pittsburgh Sports Now was the first to report on this because shortly after informing the Pitt staff, Toney texted PSN to alert us to the news. Toney also told us that he will reclassify and be a part of Capel’s Class of 2018.

247 Sports ranks Toney (6-6, 190) as a 4-star recruit and one of the Top 150 players in the country.

Toney will be re-united with former AAU teammate and good friend Trey McGowens.

On the court, Toney will give Capel versatility with his ability to play different positions.

Toney joins Xavier Johnson (Arlington, Virginia) and Trey McGowens (Chatham, Virginia) in Pitt’s Class of 2018. If Capel decides to use it, he has one more scholarship available to use.

Great news for Capel & the Pitt basketball program!!!

Now, anyone thinking about committing to the football team anytime soon?

Not many schools can compete at a high level in both sports. Pitt basketball is the future. My only fear is that Capel is going to do too good. That’s a good problem

They might not land a center this late in the game. But they will get one next year.
