PITTSBURGH — Pitt baseball’s historic run in the ACC Tournament ended last Saturday with a semifinal loss to Louisville, but for some of the Panthers, the 2018 baseball season is just reaching its midway point.

Pitt is likely to have several players selected in the 2018 MLB Draft, which starts with the first round on Monday.

The top prospect for the Panthers is redshirt junior Liam Sabino. Sabino led the Panthers in home runs (16), stolen bases (18), slugging percentage (.595) and on-base percentage (.396).

I sat down with Sabino to talk about his big year, the Panthers’ unexpected success, and the chance to play at the next level.
