It’s a busy day for the Pitt coaching staff.Prior to hosting Kennedy Catholic 2019 4-star big man Oscar Tshiebwe, Jeff Capel and company had a visitor from Washington, D.C.

2019 3-star shooting guard Anwar Gill from Gonzaga High School visited Pitt. 247 Sports rates Gill as the 6th best junior in the DC area.

“It was my first time in Pittsburgh and it was good,” Gill said to Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I got a chance to meet the whole staff and got a tour of the campus.

“Coach [Milan] Brown, he wanted me to come for a visit and see how I like it and get here before the July live period comes and wants me to explore Pittsburgh and have them be an option for me.”

Gill describes himself as “lefty two-way player.”

“I can score at all three levels, I finish with both hands, I’m good at getting to the rim and a great defender,” he said.

Pitt hasnt offered him yet but that could change. Gill is scheduled to take part in a pick-up game at The Pete at 5 p.m. An offer from Pitt would be a big-deal to Gill.

“It would mean a lot and they’d definitely be one of my top schools,” he said. “The visit today was really an eye-opening experience.”
