Pitt First Power Five to Offer Virginia WR Jaden Payoute

In their last two recruiting classes, Pitt got commitments from two highly athletic, bigger wide receivers that were fairly under recruited in Michael Smith (6-2, 205) and Cameron O’Neil (6-2, 195).

Could that blue print happen three years in a row?

Yesterday, Pitt became the first Power 5 program to extend an offer to 2019 wide receiver Jaden Payoute (6-3, 195) from Chesterfield, Virginia.

“I’ve been in contact with Pitt for a good two years now. They made visits to my school last year and then came again this year. Following the visits this year, they’ve stayed in contact with me a lot. Coach Powell is the coach from Pitt recruiting me,” said Payoute.

Despite the communication with the staff, the offer yesterday came as a pleasant surprise to Payoute.

“When they offered, I was like did that really happen. I was very nervous when they told me yet very excited also.
Coach Narduzzi loves my explosiveness and my speed. I ran the 40 in under 4.4,” said Payoute.

“This offer means a lot to me and means that my talents are up there with the best of them. Just getting my first Power Five offer really stamps me and puts me on the map.”

Payoute tells PSN that he’s hoping to visit Pitt sometime this month.
